- The Pirates mentor has expressed his views to Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki, but he was quick to praise Ntseki's approach to the game
Football pundits and fans have marvelled at the performances of Orlando Pirates midfielder Ben Motshwari and many have questioned his absence from the national team.
Pirates coach Rulani Mokwena is an avid admirer of the young Bucs star and feels he possesses the qualities to command a starting berth.
Briefly.co.za learnt that the Bucs mentor has already expressed this view to Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki.
SowetanLIVE reported that the two coaches regularly discuss various issues and Motshwari's inclusion is one of them.
Mokwena said, “If you ask him he will confirm to you that we’ve discussed Ben Motshwari at length‚ but sometimes these conversations must be left for coach to coach."
The closest Motshwari came to his first cap was during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations when he was named in the provisional squad.
Although the two coaches don't fully agree on Motshwari at the moment, Mokwena admires the approach adopted by Ntseki.
Mokwena said, "We’re fortunate to have a national coach that is very open."
However, Mokwena reiterated his stance on Motshwari: "He’s fully fit and he’s definitely a national team material."
