- Kaizer Chiefs inflicted a crushing 4-0 victory over Stellenbosch on Wednesday
- Samir Nurkovic scored a brace to inspire the Amakhosi
- The win extends Chiefs' lead in the Absa Premiership to 10 points
The pressure was on Kaizer Chiefs over the last few days after their humbling defeat to Maritzburg United in the Telkom Knockout over the weekend.
With Mamelodi Sundowns victorious on Tuesday, the Amakhosi knew three points were vital against Stellenbosch on Wednesday.
The log leaders showed their class with a dominant 4-0 victory over the Cape-based side.
Steve Barker's boys were on the back foot for most of the match and Siyabonga Ngezena opened the scoring in the 10th minute following a corner delivered by Lebogang Manyama.
Stellenbosch struggled to contend with Manyama's delivery as he set up the second goal with another dangerous corner kick.
This time, Samir Nurkovic was on hand to head home in the 23rd minute.
Stellenbosch may have smelt blood when coach Ernst Middendorp was forced to bring off Khama Billiat due to injury.
However, Chiefs maintained the intensity and Nurkovic soon achieved his brace following another headed goal.
Billiat earlier made way for Dumisani Zuma and he got his name on the score sheet in stoppage time after a neat through ball by Reeve Frosler.
The clinical performance sees Chiefs extend their lead in the Absa Premiership to ten points.
