- Kaizer Chiefs have once again dominated at the PSL awards
- The team won honours for coach and player of the month
- A grateful Middendorp said it was all due to hard work
Kaizer Chiefs have once again dominated the PSL monthly awards by scooping the Absa Premiership player and coach of the month awards. Chiefs coach, Ernst Middendorp, has expressed his gratitude for the acknowledgement.
Middendorp retained the award he won in August. His goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi, received Player of the Month, after only conceding one goal in two months.
The Glamour Boys currently sit at the top of the league table. According to the Daily Sun, Middendorp said that the accolades were a reflection of the hard work they have been doing.
He said that if they are all willing, the team will even train on Christmas Day.
Nigerian goalkeeper Akpeyi was also happy about his award although it did surprise him. He gave credit to the entire team, including the technical side who supported him.
The keeper said he was grateful for the opportunity to play for the team.
Briefly.co.za previously reported that the Liverpool vs Napoli Champions League clash ended in a stalemate. Dries Mertens scored for the Italian League giants in the first half. Dejan Lovren's second-half header rescued a point for the Premier League giants. Both teams must win their last group games to secure their place in the round of 16 stages.
