- President Cyril Ramaphosa has not only offered a bursary to Precious Ramabulana's sister, but a home to her family
- The politician spent time with the mourning relatives of the slain TVET student on Sunday
- The family has welcomed the generous offer made during Ramaphosa's visit to their modest Limpopo home
President Cyril Ramaphosa has gone above and beyond the call of duty and offered a helping hand to the family of Precious Ramabulana.
The Sowetan reports that family spokesperson Thovhele Kutama had welcomed the president's gifts:
"The president expressed his deep shock on the murder of our daughter and said he is now aware that Precious was studying hard to take the family out of abject poverty. We welcome his promises for building a decent house for the family and also a bursary for Precious's younger sister."
Briefly.co.za reported that Ramaphosa had travelled to the family's Limpopo home to pay his respects and denounce gender-based violence:
"As men, we seem to have declared outright war against the women of SA. It is a national shame that a young woman who had a promising future had her life cut short by a man who killed her so brutally and slaughtered her like an animal."
Ramaphosa had called for prisoners to face the harshest labour during their time in jail in the wake of the escalating crimes against women:
"All these people, once arrested and sent to jail, they should be subjected to harsh labour because what they subject communities and families to is worse."
