- Herman Mashaba threw major shade at the ANC on Twitter
- The former Johannesburg mayor opened up about his daughter's decision to work and live in America
- According to Mashaba, his daughter loves SA but is worried about her future under the ANC's rule
The tweep captioned the post:
"More black kids than white are currently moving overseas! I don't blame them, under the ANC/EFF, this place has become a typical African backwater!"
Mashaba agreed with @Greg79249965 that the ANC is failing the youth in Mzansi and that his daughter is proof of that.
The former Johannesburg mayor's tweet read:
"From a personal experience, my own daughter who dearly loves SA, but studied and now works in the USA, is worried about her future in our country under ANC rule."
Mashaba's post sparked a mixed reaction from Twitter users - some agreed with the former mayor while others said bailing on the country is not helping.
Social media user, @peter_tlouane, commented:
"I don't even know what to say. But fear never built anything. And running isn't a solution. Continuing to speak about the loss of opportunities due to ANC rule as if they're built into rock oversimplifies the situation beyond measure. Young people have to confront these things."
