South Africa's favourite winger Makazole Mapimpi scooped the top prize at the Sharks' annual awards event held in Durban on Tuesday evening.
Mapimpi became the first Springbok to score a try in a Rugby World Cup final when South Africa triumphed over England in Japan a month ago.
The 29-year-old was named Player of the Year at the Sharks' awards ceremony. He also scooped Fans' Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year.
His prize included a luxury BMW 3 Series. The humble player from Eastern Cape was also nominated in the Super Rugby Player of the Year category with Ande Esterhuizen emerging victorious.
