Fritz Joubert used to be a police officer as a young man, fired when he was 21-years-old.

TimesLIVE reports that while the police didn't give any details as to why the now infamous man was discharged, a source claimed it had been connected to 'too many deaths'.

Joubert had been killed by a police officer who had described the incident as self-defense after the harrowing ordeal that left Anele Hoyana dead over the past weekend, Briefly.co.za reported.

DispatchLIVE reported that Joubert had been out on bail for a case of robbery with aggravating circumstances and crimen injuria.

The killer had been accused of pointing a firearm at two cops in Bloemfontein before fleeing with their car keys.

After his arrest in April, Joubert had pleaded not guilty to the charges, subsequently released on bail.

A source close to the investigation claimed that Joubert had been planning to kill numerous people on the night of the incident.

The deranged man had put a rifle pointing out of the window towards the gate to the property:

“He was going to shoot everyone who drove into the yard that morning. He said no one was leaving the farm alive. He was shot dead in that room."

Another source claimed that Joubert had wanted to die that fateful night, saying that Fritz wasn't in a 'good mental place'.
