Last month the Department of Social Development launched a Safe Space For Men initiative in a township in the North West Province.

Media personality Mmabatho Montsho, who is currently dating EFF national spokesperson Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, is one person who is not here for it.

In a series of tweets, she blasted the government for prioritising men when the country suffers from so much violence against women.

A lot of commentators agreed with her. One wrote, "South Africa is Anti Women. Crisis, Hate to see it," with a broken heart emoji.

Others believed that it is high time citizens stood up to do something about gender-based violence and stop waiting for government. A few defended President Cyril Ramaphosa.
