Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that Miss SA Zozibini Tunzi had been crowned Miss Universe, outclassing 90 other contestants for the title. South Africa applauded our homegirl for this massive achievement on a global scale - and President Ramaphosa has since joined in on showing her love.

Ramaphosa took to social media to congratulate Zozibini (aka Zozi) on winning the title, using some of her own words in his message.

In the Miss Universe Q&A round, Zozi was asked what young girls should be taught, and she answered "leadership".

The newly-crowned Miss Universe said she wants young girls to look at her and reflect themselves in her.

The head of state penned on Twitter:

"Congratulations to our #MissUniverse2019 @ZoziTunzi. I too hope children the world over will see their faces reflected in yours and be inspired to believe in the power of their dreams. May young women continue to take up space and leave an indelible mark on society, just as you have."
