- Metro police officers recently impounded a luxury vehicle on the Durban beachfront
- The stunning Lamborghini was on the road illegally and without number plates
- While some South Africans lauded the cops, others shared sarcastic responses as they called on the officers to arrest offenders of more serious crimes
Metro police officers might be thinking that they're damned if they do, and damned if they don't.
The Ethekwini Durban Metro Police targeted the owner of a luxury vehicle on the beachfront recently and the incident sparked a huge reaction.
The officers came across a magnificent Lamborghini parked in the area and noticed that it was unregistered and unlicensed.
The cops wasted no time in ensuring that justice was served as they impounded the impressive sports car.
Steve Middleton took pride in the vigilant policing as he shared the news via Facebook.
Briefly.co.za noted the huge reaction that followed, but not everyone shared the same sentiments.
Many were bemused why the officers would be targeting the driver, while other criminals allegedly run rampant in the area.
Brad Mayas saluted the cops:
"At the end of the day rules and regulations must be obeyed."
Rondo Moodley shared a cheeky response:
"Wow I feel so much safer in the community now that this lambo is off the streets & the rapists N killers are still walking free. Thanks metro big ups."
Imraan Seedat alluded to an ulterior motive:
"Jealousy at its best I guess when you know no matter how much bribing you do you'll never own one so rather show your jealous side and impound it."
Shaneel Chandra was left in disbelief:
"The car was being revved at the beach front, like really, who the hell got disturbed there?? These are the type of things u need at the beach front, instead of the drugs and criminal activities. This ride tho."
