It is with immense sadness that the world learnt of the death of Swedish popstar, Marie Fredriksson.
Marie was the singer of the very popular 80s and 90s duo, Roxette, and had a huge following. Together, she and Per Gessle gave the world hit songs such as Joyride, Listen To Your Heart, The Look and It Must Have Been Love.
Marie passed away on Monday, 9 December after bravely fighting cancer for 17 years.
The Mirror reports that Marie had previously fought a brain tumour in 2002 and she was told she had only a 20% chance of surviving. She was a fighter though and survived. However, the treatment resulted in radiation damage.
Unfortunately, in 2016, Marie was told by doctors that she could not perform or go on tour any longer.

There is no denying that her powerful voice that could bring to life the most beautiful songs will be missed.
