Halala: Lady graduates medicine with distinctions in all her subjects

Meet Jennifer van Heerden - a brilliant young woman who was named the top medical student at Stellenbosh University.

According to journalist Kofi Arthur, Van Heerden managed to bag distinctions in all 29 theory modules in the six-year programme.

To top it off, she obtained distinctions in all 11 domains of the final-year examinations, graduating with an impressive average of 87,8%.

Her outstanding academic achievement resulted in van Heerden being named the top medical student and she was awarded the Chancellor’s Medal.

The prestigious medal is awarded to a final year or postgraduate student annually. The student is judged not only on an academic basis, but also how he or she contributed to campus life and the development of co-curricular attributes, Arthur wrote on Facebook.

As for Van Heerden, she was honoured to have been awarded the medal. The young beauty credited her support system for her success and she opened up about the love she has for her chosen field of study.
