48-year-old Regina King has been in the entertainment industry for almost two decades.

We have seen her in iconic films such as Boyz 'n the Hood and Friday.

She has always been booked and busy, but 2019 has been an especially amazing year for King.

The actress finally won mass recognition for her talents when she scooped an Oscar for her role in If Beale Street Could Talk this year.

King also won a role in the new action hero drama Watchmen.

As if that isn't enough, King found out she's set to direct her first big screen feature One Night In Miami.

When asked about her Oscar win, King told Entertainment Weekly, “If the pinnacle was just to win an Oscar, then that’s kind of sad.

“The award is great, but nine times out of 10, that is usually not the reason the person set out to express their art in a public way.”

She jokingly concluded, “By no means am I saying, ‘Hey, you could take it back.’ ”
