The truth always comes out and people who think it's okay to mess around find it out the hard way.

Jane Slater, an NFL reporter, took to Twitter to share how she found out her ex-boyfriend was not faithful to her and her story is definitely one to remember.

She revealed her former boyfriend gifted her a fitness watch for Christmas and they ended up syncing their devices to motivate each other.

However, little did she know the device would lead to a heart-breaking discovery later on. Slater revealed in her post:

"An ex-boyfriend once got me a Fitbit for Christmas. I loved it. We synched up, motivated each other... didn’t hate it until he was unaccounted for at 4am and his physical activity levels were spiking on the app. Wish the story wasn’t real."

She added in another post that her bae was not taking an early morning fitness class.

The post received nearly half a million likes and social media users could not believe what they had read.

In another tweet, Slater revealed it was not the first time she caught a boyfriend two-timing her. She said the unidentified ex partied a bit too hard and brought another girl over, forgetting she was spending the night.

Slater's story is not the only bizarre one on social media. Briefly.co.za previously reported that a woman caught her husband having an affair after a food critic shared a photo online.

In a strange twist of fate, a woman came across Tom Sietsema's review and recognised one of the men in the photo as her husband.
