This week, slain Rhythm City actor Dumisani Masilela was honoured by the Ekurhuleni municipality.

Masilela was tragically killed in August 2017 during a botched hijacking.

He was only 29 years old when he died.

His widow, Simz Ngema, posted a touching message on her Instagram account regarding the honour.

“For as long as I live, Nations will know of your greatness,” she wrote.

Malisela's friend, Thato Mabaso, also posted a tribute to the star.

Zola Hashatsi thanked the municipality for ensuring Masilela's legacy remains alive.

Masilela grew up in Germiston and, of course, loved the arts so this is a truly fitting tribute for the much-loved actor.
