Daniel Radcliffe, aka Harry James Potter, has taken on the role of a prison escape in a thriller film that is based on a South African story.
Hollywood has seemed to have taken a liking to Mzansi in recent years with many movies not only being based on South African tales but shot here too.
Briefly.co.za learnt that the Tim Jenkin novel titled Inside Out: Escape from Pretoria Prison has been turned into a film and Radcliffe has taken the lead role.
The story is based on a tur-life sort of three real prisoners that once escaped Pretoria prison back in 1979.
The film is titled Escape from Pretoria and has been written and directed by Francis Annan.
Filming took place earlier this year in Adelaide, South Australia unfortunately it was not filmed in Mzansi despite the stories origins.
Escape from Pretoria is set to premier on March 6, 2020 and looks to be one heck of a film.
Briefly.co.za previously reported that Radcliffe’s mother was born in South Africa as his grandfather came from here – meaning that he technically is somewhat South African.
