Wife, mom of 2 graduates with PhD after 6 years at university

Following a six-year period of hard work and resilience, Felicitas Adu-Acheampong has graduated with a PhD in Economics from the Wayne State University in the USA.

The former student of Yaa Asantewaa Girls Secondary School and alumna of University of Cape Coast noted via social media that: ‘‘It took me six years to accomplish this.’’

With her recent admirable feat, Dr Felicitas Adu-Acheampong is set to take up new challenges while impacting lives with the skills and knowledge she has acquired.

Dr Adu-Acheampong expressed appreciation to God for taking her through a journey that has finally yielded results.

''This is the day the Lord has made. To God be the glory, I was was awarded PhD Economics today December 10, 2019. All glory and honor to God. I want to thank my husband and children for standing by me with their support for these past six years,'' Dr Felicitas Adu-Acheampong wrote in a Facebook post.

The accomplished doctor also penned her sincere gratitude to her parents and loved ones, who, according to her, made remarkable contributions to help her attain a PhD in Economics.

She wrote: ''To my parents, siblings and their spouses, I appreciate you. To all the father and mother figures in my life, thanks for helping me get to where I am today. To my loyal friends and loved ones and entire family, I thank and appreciate u all. God bless u all. Looking back, all I can say is God made a way when my back was against the wall, and it looked as if it was over. He stepped in right on time.

"I can’t end without saying thank you to all my teachers from all the numerous schools I have attended; Juaso Bankaman Preparatory, St. John’s International Dormaa Ahenkro, Modern Preparatory School Kintampo, Yaa Asantewaa Girls Secondary School, University of Cape Coast, University of Hull, UK and finally Wayne State University, USA . Let’s give glory to God for His promises are yeah and Amen .''
