- The DJ pair have asked Mzansi to support and cheer them on during this historical event
Mzansi DJs, PH and Shimza, are attempting to record world history with the first ever 72-hour DJ set.
According to TshisaLIVE, the pair are attempting to break the record for the longest set played by two DJs back-to-back.
The record attempt, which is part of their Unstoppable Extreme Energy Experience, started on Thursday and will continue until Sunday at Icon in Soweto.
PH shared the news with Mzansi via a video on Twitter on Friday morning while he was on breakfast duty. In the video he said he had another 53 hours to go.
Shimza took to Twitter earlier to update his fans.
“We’ve been playing for 9 hours now, 63 hours left,” he tweeted.
The DJs are counting on Mzansi to support and keep them going. He urged fans to come on down to cheer and hype them.
Many fans thought the attempt was nearly impossible but were concerned about the DJs' well-being. Some even offered to bring them supplies for the challenge.
Meanwhile, three months ago, Briefly.co.za reported that DJ Shimza was writing a new chapter to add to the story of his life - he has ventured into the business world with his own place that he calls The Hang Awt 1632. He promises good food, good entertainment and good vibes.
DJ Shimza isn't satisfied with being a great DJ - he wants to be an entrepreneur who contributes to Mzansi's economy in a more immediate way.
He is starting a new business in Tembisa - a place for people to hang out and relax. The DJ shared a post on social media in which he excitedly shared the news with his followers and fans.
