The Telkom Knockout final is set to take place on Saturday and the Premier Soccer League (PSL) announced earlier today what the prize money will be.
On Friday, the PSL announced that the Telkom Knockout competition prize money will once again total R14.2 million.
According to Soccer Laduma, the money will be distributed to the 16 teams who participated in the competition.
Obviously, the winners of the tournament will walk away with the largest chunk of the money. The Mamelodi Sundowns and Maritzburg United are set to face off against each other in the final on Saturday.
The winners of the match will walk away with a whopping R4 million in prize money while the runner-up side can bank on R1,5 million.
The Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows - who were the semi-finalists - will each get R750k.
Briefly.co.za earlier reported that Maritzburg United striker Judas Moseamedi's mother flew in a plane for the first time to be in Durban for the Telkom Knockout final on Saturday.
The footballer, whose team is facing off against the Mamelodi Sundowns, posted a snap of him and his mom online, writing: "Mommy is in town", alongside several hug and heart emojis.
