- EFF leader Julius Malema had some harsh words for his colleagues over loyalty
- Malema says some in the party were loyal to power but not the movement itself
- The party is currently holding its elective conference to establish new leadership
Julius Malema blasted those within the party who failed when it came to being loyal to the Red Berets.
Speaking during the second National People's Assembly, Malema blasted guilty individuals:
“The EFF [central command team (CCT)] committees are not fully functional and despite being assigned to specific tasks, most commissars sitting in front here do not do anything in relation to their CCT portfolios. We must not lie."
Briefly.co.za reported that while R32 million had been spent on the event, the party had been adamant funding came from legitimate sources.
Malema said those in attendance should understand many of those deployed to leadership posts had failed, elaborating:
“You are going to see it when this conference finishes. Some of them are not going to be elected and they are going to start insulting the organization after not being elected."
As far as political aspiration, Malema says the party hadn't built the movement to this point just to govern municipalities with sub-standard deployees:
“I hope this conference will not use the CCT as a dumping area for mediocre, you must provide us with the best of the best. That's why when there are by-elections you don't win wards because most of you are not known by your communities."
