An amazing love story can be found in the life of Les and Freda Austin, an American couple who were married for 70 years and died on the same day. The inseparable couple reportedly died 20 minutes apart on 7 December.
Daily Mail reports they met in high school and were married in 1949. The couple celebrated their wedding anniversary in November but died a month after. They are survived by two children, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren
The pair, who married in 1949, entered hospice care at Henry Ford Allegiance on December 6. The next day, Les passed away first and Freda followed him shortly after he took his last breath.
Freda worked as a manager at Brail Dry Cleaning and was 'an impeccable homemaker,' according to their obituary.
Les served in the US Air Force as an airborne radio operator and retired from the Michigan State Police after 40 years of service. He retired as a sergeant with the state police.
Freda had a love for collecting cookbooks and collecting Christmas villages while Les enjoyed his John Wayne memorabilia collection and had a love for Western movies.
