On Monday, a young man, Abuti Makerese Wa Lena, took to the #ImStaying Facebook page to share his inspiring story.
Abuti revealed that he has finally achieved his dream of becoming a police officer, despite several challenges and negative people.
Briefly.co.za learned the road to success was far from an easy one and Abuti had to work as a security guard to make ends meet.
He revealed people were negative about his job and how much he earned. However, he pushed through and realised his childhood dream.
He captioned the post:
"Ever since I was young my dream was to be a cop -to protect my country and it's inhabitants. However, it was not an easy road. But, today I can proudly say I'm staying because to get here I was security guard and people undermined my job and my payslip. Today, I achieved what I always dreamed of, #imstaying."
South Africans were inspired by Abuti's dedication to succeed and they applauded him on social media.
