What services are rendered?

Lion park and safari has a restaurant, conference facilities, children’s play area, and a retail center. It offers predator walks twice a day. Clients are accompanied by a professional guide for a short walk within the menagerie. Also, guests are provided with an opportunity to hand-feed giraffes and ostriches.

Operating hours

Lion Park Johannesburg opens every day of the year, but it has different working hours. On weekdays, from Mondays to Fridays, the doors open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. On weekends, it opens from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Predator Tour

This is a 45 minutes walk by qualified and skilled game wardens. The excursion will introduce you to the most famous South Africa predators. Taken by modern safari trucks, you will be driven through the predator & wild dogs terrain, and you will have an opportunity to find out more about these animals.

You may also have a chance to see many herbivorous animals, including Giraffes, Impalas, Springboks, and Zebras. Besides, the menagerie has a lion feeding tour at 11:30 and 14:30, but on weekends and public holidays, it takes place at 12:00 and 15:00.

Lion Walk

This is a fantastic excursion that will allow you to interact and walk with young cubs. It happens for 45 minutes to 1 hour, where the wardens show you how to safely interact with the beasts. The walks start at 10:00 and 15:00.

The excursion is a weather dependent. However, people under the age of 18 yrs and women over five months pregnant are not allowed. You should have a minimum height of 155m and a minimum weight of 50kgs.

Lion Cub Interaction

The experience is a lifetime opportunity for you to mingle with the kings of the jungle. On a good day, you stand a chance of touching the animals and even taking memorable photos.

Self-Drives

You are allowed to drive through the park, making it a great whole family experience. This is for a better up-close experience when viewing the beasts and wild dogs. However, off-top or convertible vehicles and open pick-ups are not allowed. Drive through the beats enclosures with your friends and family this December for a perfect outing. There is no guide provided.

Private Tour

This is an opportunity to take supernatural wildlife photos. For this expedition, you get a 25hr private guide services to ask all questions and view the best scenarios. You can also book a private photographic excursion and capture animals and their natural surroundings.

This is a 3 hours drive, including the Predator Tour and a scenic guided drive through the 600ha wildlife area. Also, it includes a visit to the hyenas, leopards, and you will have a chance to have your snacks and beverages at the Crocodile River's own setting beach.
