- Earlier this year, Rebecca said that she was thinking of throwing in the towel
- While most assumed that this meant completely, Rebecca has come forward to ease minds
- She will still be producing music, just not as much as before
Fans were sitting on tenterhooks waiting for confirmation that Rebecca Malope would not be retiring from the industry.
Earlier this year, Rebecca did say she was planning to call it quits but has since then confirmed that she will be staying.
Briefly.co.za learnt that when Rebecca spoke to TshisaLIVE, she did say that she would no longer be making full albums but not retiring from music completely. She went on to say that she would be releasing her last album but the gospel fans would still be hearing her music.
Mam’ Rebecca has decided that she will be dominating the digital music market in order to keep up with the times. She stated that one cannot retire from the Word of God, and that she will only be retiring from over-doing things and would retire only when her body tells her to.
The gospel icon did say that times are changing and that music has become more digital. It is her plan to release one or two songs which would be on streaming platforms and would be done when she receives the inspiration from God.
Rebecca’s 39th album was dropped in October called Lord You Are Good. This album was highly-anticipated and she commented that it was her best work as she ensured the correct songs were featured on this particular album.
