- Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is concerned about how fresh Polokwane City’s players will be on Saturday
- The Brazilians face City after having played three tough matches
- During the same time, the City players have been enjoying some rest as they haven't played for 12 days
Mamelodi Sundowns face Polokwane City on Saturday and coach Pitso Mosimane was left scratching his head after comparing fixture lists.
The Brazilians have recently played three tough matches since December 8, but their opponents have had the luxury of resting for the last 12 days.
Sundowns have had to play Stellenbosch FC in the PSL, Maritzburg United in the Telkom Knockout final and Wits in the league as well.
TimesLIVE reported on Mosimane's concerns regarding the fatigue of his players compared to their opponents.
Mosimane asked, “When last did they play‚ can you count the days?”
The Downs mentor added, “I hope they are not too fresh for us‚ you know."
However, Briefly.co.za gathered that Mosimane feels that the lack of game time may also work against City.
Mosimane cited the example of when an exhausted Wits team beat a much fresher Golden Arrows team.
The Downs mentor emphasised the toll Sundowns' CAF Champions League fixtures has on the players.
The Brazilians will next face a tricky away match against USM Alger in Algeria next Saturday.
