- Prince William and Kate's lives are watched closely by people from all over the world
- When a video clip was shared that shows Kate apparently shrugging off William's affection, it quickly went viral
- It's not clear whether Kate actually acted coldly towards her husband or simply reacted to him possibly tickling her
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are closely watched when they're moving around in public so it's no wonder that even small moments can make headlines.
The Royal Family has strict rules about public displays of attention (PDA) and you rarely find the royal couples being openly loving.
However, a video clip from Kate and William's interaction during 'A Berry Royal Christmas' went viral for all the wrong reasons.
William apparently tried to touch his wife's shoulder and she coolly shrugged him off.
But as reported on by Cosmopolitan, it is possible that William tickled Kate's shoulder or back and she reacted. There is no upset expression on Kate's face, so it can be assumed she wasn't being mean.
However, Briefly.co.za noticed that people still had a lot to say about the interaction. Here's what a handful of them had to say:
"She shifted in her chair. In the programme and pretty much all other public engagements they carry out together you can see their sweet and subtle PDA, but sure let’s focus on this 2 second non-event and blow it out of proportion. I see the Sussex fans are out in full force"
"Like someone said a couple of days ago how Will and Kate truly act around each other reminded them of Charles and Diana, its a marriage of convenience"
"Have you ever been married? My wife would happily slap push me away in public if she's in a mood. Marriage isn't always happy cuddles in public. Leave them alone"
"The level of bitterness and jealousy here of Meghan stans Lmao"
"Normally I take these things with a pinch of salt, but I remember thinking how little interaction, chemistry or warmth there seemed between them when I watched it a few days ago. It would be a shame to see them split, they seemed like such a happy couple."
"If you look at the whole video there's another lady making the same gesture as if they were describing something to someone. But of course, that part's not showing conveniently to make a look like Kate was the only one doing it"
