According to TimesLIVE, it was dropped because of a lack of funds to pay other service providers and events organisers in Durban.
A representative of NuWave Entertainment was quoted as saying:
In light of the funding issues met by us as organisers, NuWave Entertainment, we have reluctantly decided to cancel the Durban Rick Ross Block Party.
"This decision was made following full consultation with all the relevant partners who are aware that the event is not going ahead at this time."
Fortunately for his other fans, Rick will still do the East London and Mahikeng shows on 22 and 24 December.
Those who had already purchased tickets to the event will receive a complete refund.
