Briefly.co.za learned that disaster was averted in the first 5 minutes after Pirates keeper Wayne Sandilands stopped a goal attempt but soon took the lead in the 22nd minute.

The Pirates dominated the game and kept the Leopards under pressure. The first half ended 1-0 to the Pirates.

The pressure was too much for the Leopards in the second half and which resulted in the Pirates scoring two more goals, however, the Leopards were able to get one of their own in to avoid a whitewash according to sabcnews.com.
