André 3000 and Eminem go back in time: Reconnect with hip-hop lyrics

André 3000 came out of hiding long enough to chat about his relationship with Eminem and their collective love of hip-hop. The rapper responded to the shoutout with a cheeky trip down memory lane.

André Lauren Benjamin seems to have dropped off the music scene permanently but that doesn't mean his lost the passion for the craft.

The iconic musician spoke to Rick Rubin recently and revealed a close bond with equally legendary rapper Eminem:

“Me and Eminem, we sat on the phone for about an hour talking about Hieroglyphics crew. We were trading their lyrics on the phone like, ‘Do you remember, man?'”

Eminem caught wind of this and took to social media to touch base with his old friend, posting lyrics from Souls of Mischief’s “Never No More.”:

“If I had to grip my pad the riffs I’d grab would rip and stab, the kids that sad, the sh*t that’s drab and flavorless.You’re up, André!”

While the two reconnected André admitted that he wasn't working on anything new, disappointing those hoping for a comeback.
