Robbie Williams and his wife, Ayda Field, have revealed the most awful Christmas gift he's given her.

The Christmas after their son was born, the 45-year-old singer bought Field clothes that were too small for her.

Williams and Field spoke about it in their special podcast show, At Home With The Williams.

Williams said: “You have a list of things that I can’t get you because you can get them anytime you like… Or you feel fat.”

Field laughed as she explained, “As a woman, especially at Christmas time, you tend to put on about seven pounds, don’t want to put on anything which doesn’t involve elastic.”

She mom-of-three continued, “I remember this one time after I gave birth to Teddy, you got me clothes for Christmas and I felt so bad about my body image and I didn’t fit into anything and there were all these tight lyrcra stuff and I was like ‘Oh’, I remember weeping."

A surprised Williams asked, "I made you cry at Christmas?" to which Field replied, "Yep."
