A criminal got more than he bargained for following a botched burglary attempt.

The thief seemingly underestimated his own size as he tried squeezing through a set of burglar bars, but got stuck in the process.

Video footage reveals how the man was exposed and unable to break free from the window.

The home owner seemingly needed no second invitation as he quickly taught the thief that crime doesn't pay.

The home owner continuously struck the burglar with a bottle against his knee, resulting in excruciating pain.

The controversial video was sahred by Twitter user @ms_tourist on Sunday and noted that it started trending.

Based on the reactions, most people commended the home owner for teaching the thief a lesson.

PapaG (@NtateG1) envied the home owner:

"How I wish I can catch them right handed...start with pelvis, go down to mid-femur continue to knee cap and then test if my knife still works by cutting fibularis breves muscle. Through him in the streets for mob to finish him up."
