While some people prefer to keep heartbreak and rejection private, others yearn for the response from as many people as possible.

Twitter user Sam Mamabolo ️(@Makhudu) recently declared his love for his bae, but his advances weren't too well received.

In response, Sam's lover simply said, "Amen."

Sam shared a screenshot of the short conversation via Twitter on Monday and requested on tweeps to call an ambulance to mend his broken heart.

The tweet went viral and Briefly.co.za noted that it had a polarising effect.

Many laughed in response as they saw the funny side, while others sympathised with him.

However, a few tweeps explained that it may not be all doom and gloom as they revealed an alternative interpretation to the bae's response.
