Lil Wayne's jet searched by federal agents, cocaine and firearm found

37-year-old American rapper Dwayne Michael Carter Jr aka Lil Wayne was stopped by federal agents in Florida on Monday after he was found aboard an aircraft that was carrying cocaine and a gun.

According to reports by The Sun, the aircraft was searched by authorities who had gotten a tip-off earlier on, moments after Lil Wayne landed at the Miami-Opa Locka executive airport.

Cocaine and a firearm were found during the search on the aircraft, a Gulfstream G-V capable of accommodating up to 14 passengers and crew, which had been travelling from California.

Herald reports that the search involved investigators with the Miami-Dade police, FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and other agencies.

Another report from TMZ noted that the rapper’s lawyers rushed down to the scene after he contacted them.

A defence attorney to Wayne, Howard Srebnick, later disclosed that the 37-year-old rapper had been cleared to leave the scene on Monday night.

The rapper took to Twitter to update his fans. His post suggested that everything seemed to be under control.
