Ever since Barack Obama left the US presidency in 2017, he has been active in both social and political spaces, making him one of the relevant former leaders in the world.
In a photo shared by Obama on his Instagram, the former US president could be seen with his wife, Michelle Obama, building furniture for school children in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
According to the post, the former US president and his wife were with the Obama Foundation leaders as they lent a helping hand.
Obama said that it was a source of inspiration for him seeing young leaders come together to help those that are in need.
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za earlier reported that Michelle made this Christmas season great for kids of Highlands Elementary School in Washington DC as she gave them great Christmas presents.
The kind gesture was part of the Ellen’s Greatest Night of Giveaways over The Ellen Show. According to iMore, 65% of the students are either homeless or in foster care.
In the video, the former US first lady talked about how the school was lacking in updated computers as she replaced every one of them with Macs (for general use), laptops (for teachers) and iPads (for each of the students).
It should be noted that in most cases, the teachers have been using their personal funds to bankroll the equipment that engenders quality learning.
Aside from the numerous gifts, Michelle also gave the school a whopping amount of $100,000 plus a standard and well-made basketball court for their sport and recreational activities.
