A video showing an elderly woman dancing has caused quite a stir on social media recently.

The footage showcases the gogo's fine dance moves while an amapiano hit plays in the background.

Briefly.co.za gathered that the video was taken at a club or tavern and the woman busts her moves with drink in hand.

Twitter user Dr Man's Not Barry Roux  (@AdvBarryRoux) shared the video on Tuesday and it's had a polarising effect.

The video has been viewed more than 16 000 times already.

While some enjoyed the elderly woman's moves, others expressed their reservations.

The song Labantwana ama Uber is what got the gogo on the dance floor and Briefly.co.za recently reported on a different video that went viral based on the song.

Tinashe Svinurai (@tinashesvinurai) saw the lighter side:

"Shame she wishes amapiano were around in her younger days."

Romeo_kgo (@Ona77827150) raved about the gogo's dancing ability:

"Am really offended....how can she dance better than me."

Twitter user @matome791 couldn't hide his disappointment:
