While most South Africans prepare to open their gifts and tuck into a wonderful Christmas lunch, Mamelodi Sundowns flew to Algeria.
The team landed safely on Tuesday ahead of their important CAF Champions League clash against USM Alger.
The match takes place on December 28, but the players will start training on Christmas Day.
Downs can draw on their last cup experience - the 2-1 victory over Maritzburg United to lift the Telkom Knockout trophy.
The week will mark a tough period for the team away from their families, but the club will try to arrange a small celebration on Christmas Day, as reported by KickOFF.com.
Coach Pitso Mosimane said, "We can do something for the boys and if we don’t go to the embassy then we will see what we can do at the hotel to pep ourselves up."
Briefly.co.za was also made aware that Sundowns are making every effort to ensure that fans will be able to catch the action.
The match will be streamed live via Facebook and Sundowns will confirm the link 30 minutes prior to kick-off.
