A little girl's heart-wrenching letter to Santa has touched the hearts of social media users across the world.

The unnamed little girl reportedly dropped her letter at mailbox inside the L6 Community Centre - which is situated in the UK.

UK politician, Gerard Woodhouse, took to Twitter to share a photo of the heart-breaking letter, which shows the little girl asking for things many people take for granted.

Briefly.co.za learned the seven-year-old asked for a home - because her mom wants them all to be together - and food.

She ended the letter by asking for "just" one nice doll.

The letter read:

“Dear Father Christmas, can you help? Can we have a home for Christmas? Mom wants us to be all together. Can you give us some food and can I have just a nice doll for Christmas?”
