The Gupta family has avoided a return thus far to South Africa, but it appears they might have changed their minds. The notorious family has applied to renew their passports, but it remains to be seen if this will be granted.
The Gupta family is attempting to secure a return into the country, applying to have their passports renewed.
Briefly.co.za reported that Justice Minister Ronald Lamola had led delegates in a trip to the United Arab Emirates in the hopes of having the infamous crew extradited.
Now, the family at the center of state capture allegations is attempting to make their way back to Mzansi.
eNCA reports that Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi had confirmed the application, but says it remains to be seen if it will be approved:
“Yes I can confirm that there are two applications from the Gupta family members. I don’t think we’re going to process them because they are still many issues outstanding with the Guptas."
The United States of America has agreed to blacklist the family and its known associates, effectively barring any native companies from doing business with them.
