Somizi Mhlongo has had an amazing year in which he got married to the love of his life.

However, the entertainer took time to think about others whose lives didn't go so well this year.

Somizi warned his followers not to gloat at the misfortunes of others.

The 'Idols' judge wrote, "The level at which you celebrate other people's downfalls, divorces, troubled times? Says a lot about your self-esteem and your sadness. Check yourself, love."

Somizi captioned the post, "Zilungise babes (Fix yourself babes)."

Judging from the response of his celeb friends and followers, no truer have been spoken.

Top influencer, Mihlali, put a tea emoji next to the message.

Actress Rami Chuene replied, "It’s crazy how people’s misfortunes feeds our egos and make us feel better about ourselves. Sad and very unfortunate. I pray that we are more kind and understanding. More than anything, we should know when to mind our business."
