2019 has been an incredible year for Mzansi, even with the lowest of lows that we have had. South African celebs had represented the country well and had the country beaming with pride.

Both South African individuals and teams raised the flag high on international stages. From sports stars to beauty pageants and entertainment. It was indeed a glorious moment.

Briefly.co.za compiled a list of 5 South Africans who represented the country well this year, proving that dreams do come true and we can truly compete and even top the best of the best.

1. Zozibini Tunzi

Miss South African, Zozibini Tunzi, broke all stereotypes about beauty when she won Miss Universe this year.

2. Siya Kolisi and the Springbok team

Springbok captain, Siya Kolisi, led his team during the 2019 Rugby World Cup and won, inspiring the nation and future generations.

3. Chad le Clos

Olympic swimmer, Chad le Clos won himself and the country another gold medal.

4. Trevor Noah

Mzansi’s national treasure, Trevor Noah, became one of the few great comedians to fill up Madison Square Garden in New York this year.

5. Sho Madjozi

The Mzansi rapper's hit song, 'John Cena' went viral, and Sho was recognised worldwide and even scored major attention for popular American shows.

Focalistic is one of the biggest rappers who made this list. This year the young rapper bagged collaborations with artistes such as Major League DJz and Cassper Nyovest. The ‘Klippa’ rapper has been dropping music almost every month this year with featured verses and his own singles.
