- Ntsiki Mazwai doesn't think EFF leader Julius Malema is 'woke' or the kind of 'black conscious' that she is
- According to the poet, she is much closer to the kind of ideology that Steve Biko and Robert Sobukwe imagined
- She also commented on Malema's choice of a wife and his lifestyle
As reported on by The Citizen, the EFF leader doesn't embrace the kind of ideology that idols such as Steve Biko or Robert Sobukwe would have promoted.
The poet and activist feels she is much more aware of serious matters and black conscious than most men in SA who claim to be, but women's voices are not heard.
In fact, Ntsiki feels she is closer to the ideology of Sobukwe and Biko than Malema, and commented on his lifestyle.
Briefly.co.za noticed that Ntsiki also had an opinion on the kind of woman that the EFF leader married, but added that she doesn't mean to diss Mantwa Matlala.
"If he was black conscious you would even see the type of woman he has. He would have a very strong-willed, natural woman next to him. I’m not dissing his wife or anything, I think she’s a lovely lady, but I don’t think she’s the black consciousness model.
"Julius Malema is not more woke than me, he’s just a man and we live in a country where men’s voices are heard louder than women’s. You can have him as a leader, I don’t really care."
