- US presidential hopeful, Joe Biden, has predicted a defeat for incumbent American leader Donald Trump at the polls in November
- The former vice president made the bold prediction in a tweet
- Biden recently said he could well consider a Republican as a running mate in the election
Joe Biden, who served as US vice president under Barack Obama, has made a bold prediction about the US presidential election. Biden said Trump would lose the election, which will take place in November.
Biden made this bold prediction on 31 December just a few hours before the New Year rolled in.
Biden expressed confidence that 2020 would be the year President Trump is sent packing from the White House.
Earlier reports indicated that Biden, a Democrat, said he would consider a Republican as his running mate in the November 2020 race.
Responding to questions in Exeter, New Hampshire, on his choice for who would become the second citizen of the country if he emerges as president, Biden implied that he is open-minded in that regard.
Biden said: "The answer is I would, but I can't think of one now," Biden replied. "Let me explain that. You know there are some really decent Republicans that are out there still..."
Biden has had a lifetime in politics and is considered one of the few politicians who is willing to work with the opposition rather than against it at every turn.
Meanwhile, in Gallup's 2019 survey, Trump tied with former president Barack Obama as America's most admired man in 2019.
