A heart-warming video has been shared on social media by philanthropist BI Phakathi. The Good Samaritan meets three gogos in the supermarket and offers to pay for their groceries after hearing that they had no received their grant money. The grateful women burst into tears when Phakathi paid for their food and gave them some money as they parted ways.
The footage was shared on BI Phakathi's Facebook page. The women revealed that they were sisters and were visiting Joburg for the holidays. One of the granny's said that she is currently hosting 20 people in her house but was struggling financially because the government grant money was delayed.
After receiving the unexpected blessing from the kind stranger, the women were overcome with emotion and spoke blessings onto him.
Social media users were also impressed by the act of kindness. Facebook user Minwatson Makams Watso Gutu said:
