- Temperamental striker Tokelo Rantie has still not reported back to Mamelodi Sundowns since December
- The Brazilians are reportedly set to take stern action against the forward
- This could be the third time in three years that Rantie is axed from a football club
Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly ready to pull the trigger on temperamental striker Tokelo Rantie.
Rantie has landed himself in hot water again for allegedly going AWOL since December and has still not reported for duty.
Ironically, his three-year deal with the Brazilians came after a 12-month exodus from the game.
KickOFF.com reported that his actions have deeply disappointed coach Pitso Mosimane.
A source close to the club said, “The player has just disappointed coach Pitso, who gave him a chance when everyone had given up on him.”
It is also understood that the club's management has come to a decision on the future of the 29-year-old.
Briefly.co.za understands that Rantie's past tells a troubled tale as this could be the third time that he gets axed in the last three years.
In 2018, Turkish side Genclerbirligi kicked Rantie to the curb and Cape Town City followed suit in December of that same year.
The talent is undeniable as Rantie previously held down a spot in the Bafana Bafana team, but it remains to be seen what the future holds.
Briefly.co.za initially reported on Rantie's absence in December.
