Zinhle Muthwa, a 20-something young woman from KwaZulu-Natal, was found dead on the side of a road on New Year's Day.

Muthwa's parents positively identified her body on Thursday, News24 reported. The young woman - who went missing after an unidentified person in a white car picked her up in New Germany - was found with injuries to her head and several bruises.

Briefly.co.za learned police confirmed her body was found at the Ndaya Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal.

According to police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala, the circumstances surrounding her death have yet to be determined and they are underway with an investigation.

South Africans were outraged over her death and many were heart-broken that another young woman succumbed to the cruelty from which women and children suffer in Mzansi.
