- Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs have both had jerseys featuring in the Top 30 Football Shirts of the Decade list
- The Pirates 2017/18 design came out trumps and ranked in eighth place
- Soccerbible recently published the prestigious global list
Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs have gone into battle again, but off the football pitch this time.
Although Pirates are struggling to match the form of Chiefs, they've managed to edge their Soweto rivals by boasting a superior kit design.
Pirates' 2017/18 jersey ranked in eight position on the global “Top 30 Football Shirts of the Decade”.
British football publication Soccerbible.com recently shared the results and Chiefs' current jersey was ranked in 13th spot.
Although the hypnotic Zebra-themed design was initially mocked, it's turned out to be a huge success.
Briefly.co.za learnt that the Buccaneers jersey was compared to the classic 1991 Liverpool kit.
SowetanLIVE reported that the recognition from Soccerbible should not be underestimated as their website focuses primarily on design of football apparel.
The two kits made up two of the three designs from the African continent - with Nigeria's 2018 World Cup design ranked in second place.
Interestingly, Unisport ranked the Chiefs design as second on their global list as per a previous Briefly.co.za report.
