Kaizer Chiefs lead slipping away after Sundowns victory on Saturday

When the New Year began Kaizer Chiefs fans were celebrating their dominance in the ABSA premiership. However, in just a few short days their lead has been slashed by a loss to Supersport United and the Mamelodi Sundowns victory over AmaZulu FC.

The chiefs broke their 9 match winning streak days before their 50th anniversary when they lost to Supersport United 2-1.

Briefly.co.za learned that this boosted the Sundowns spirits as they headed into their match against AmaZulu, which may have helped them with the win.

The Chiefs are not in a delicate position, no longer being able to feel secure with a healthy lead, the competition is closing in and they need to make sure they don't make any mistakes in the upcoming matches.

The Sundowns are eyeing their third league title in a row if they do win it will be their 10th league title in the same year as their 50th anniversary according to the sowetanlive.co.za.
