Iran calls Trump a 'terrorist in a suit' in scathing condemnation

Iran has spoken out against President Donald Trump in a scathing statement labelling him as a 'terrorist in a suit' after Trump threatened Iran with attacks on 52 sites.

"Like ISIS, Like Hitler, Like Genghis! They all hate cultures. Trump is a terrorist in a suit. He will learn history very soon that NOBODY can defeat 'the Great Iranian Nation & Culture'," Information and Telecommunications Minister Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahromi tweeted.

Briefly.co.za learned that the tensions between the two countries have reached record highs after the US assassinated Qassem Soleimani, Iran's top general, in a drone attack on Friday.

Trump's tweet followed by Azari-Jahromi's tweet has increased tensions while many are calling a de-escalation of hostilities between the two nations.

The international community is concerned over a potential Iran-US war erupting which would throw the region into turmoil according to enca.com.

South Africa has called for calm and peaceful diplomatic dialogue instead of military action to solve the current impasse between the two nations.
