South Africans have taken to social media to mourn the death of legendary businessman Richard Maponya. Briefly.co.za earlier reported that Ntate Richard Maponya has sadly passed away . The entrepreneur has died shortly after his 99th birthday after a brief illness.
The people of Mzansi joined each other to pay their respects to the late Ntate. Former Johannesburg mayor, Herman Mashaba, took to Twitter to offer his thoughts on the painful loss:
"I am deeply saddened by the news this morning that Dr Richard Maponya has passed at the age of 99. Dr Maponya was an inspirational businessman and set an example for us all about the value of hard work. #RIPRichardMaponya"
