- Arsenal edged Leeds out in their third round FA Cup match with a 1-0 win
- Reiss Nelson powered the Premier League side to victory with his 55th-minute goal
- Mikel Arteta's men will battle Bournemouth in their fourth round clash later this month
Arsenal booked their spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup championship following their 1-0 win over stubborn Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium.
Reiss Nelson scored the only goal of the absorbing contest in the 55th minute after tapping a deflected cross from Alexandre Lacazette into the back of the net.
Summer signing Nicolas Pepe started the build-up to the goal after picking up the ball from the centre-half and driving a bit forward before releasing the ball to the Frenchman.
Lacazette, dribbling one of the opponent's defenders to clear the way, then launched a not-too-high cross which was towards the 20-year-old by Kalvin Phillips in the danger zone.
The youngster then carefully tucked the ball into the net as the north Londoners sealed their spot in the next round of the cup competitions.
It was a tough encounter for the Premier League side who failed to find the back of the net in the first half of the meeting.
The visitors clearly had a game plan, and they were able to stick to it until they conceded a second-half goal, which sent them out of the competition.
Marcelo Bielsa's men were fantastic all through the first 45 minutes but their superhuman efforts ultimately came to nothing.
Emiliano Martinez was the Gunners' saviour at certain points with impressive saves which kept them in the game.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will battle fellow Premier League side Bournemouth in the next stage of the championship as they hope to add a record 13th FA Cup title to their record.
